Hello. My name is Claire Feldman, I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and have set up in private practice in Bangor, Co Down.
CBT is the treatment of choice in NICE guidelines for common mental health problems such as: anxiety, depression, social phobia, specific phobia, panic attacks, trauma, OCD, Eating disorders etc. (National Institute for Clinical Excellence)
It’s also proven to be very beneficial in treating other difficulties such as Anger, Low self esteem, body dysmrphia and weight related issues such as poor body image.

It is a form of talking therapy that combines cognitive therapy and behaviour therapy. It focuses on how you think about the things going on in your life – your thoughts, images, beliefs and attitudes (your cognitive processes) – and how this impacts on the way you behave and deal with emotional problems. It then looks at how you can change any negative patterns of thinking or behaviour that may be causing you difficulties. In turn, this can change the way you feel.
Depending on the level of difficulty you are experiencing, sessions can last from six weeks to six months. You will usually attend a session once a week, each session lasting one hour. Together we will explore what your problems are and develop a plan for tackling them. You will learn a set of principles that you can apply whenever you need to. You may find them useful long after you have left therapy.

Customer Reviews
Clare was absolutely brilliant in helping me to identify and tackle my issues. I liked the ongoing self assessments I did in each session which allowed me to compare my moods and symptoms. I enjoyed taking part in a range of imaginative behavioural experiments to test my beliefs and fears, as well as thought records to tackle negative thinking patterns. Clare was also very adaptable to my needs and personal limits and thoroughly prepared me for finishing therapy in advance of my last session. I have been able to maintain my level of wellness post therapy thanks to the techniques she taught me.
